of <h1>State GST amends rates for handmade and artisanal goods, mostly 2.5% and some items 1.5%, retroactive to 22 Sep 2025</h1> The State Government's Commercial Taxes Department amends a prior rate notification by substituting a new table classifying various handmade and artisanal goods-including candles, bags, carved wood, hand-made paper, textiles, stone and ceramic wares, metal and glass artware, handcrafted lamps and furniture, toys, paintings, sculptures and related articles-and prescribes SGST rates, predominantly 2.5% with specified items at 1.5%. The amendment, issued under the state GST statute, takes effect retrospectively from 22 September 2025 and updates the earlier notification dated 17 August 2018.
