No.105A for Gene Therapy and redefines 'pre-packaged and labelled' under Legal Metrology, retroactive 16 Jan 2025</h1> The government amended a 2017 GST notification to insert a new Schedule entry (S. No. 105A, heading 30) for 'Gene Therapy' and to replace the Explanation clause (ii) with a definition of 'pre-packaged and labelled' as retail commodities up to 25 kg or 25 litres that are 'pre-packed' per the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and whose packaging or labels must bear the required legal metrology declarations. The amendment is declared effective retroactively from 16 January 2025.
