of <h1>Gene Therapy Added to Punjab GST Schedule; New Packaging Rules Set Under Legal Metrology Act, Effective Jan 16, 2025</h1> The government has amended a prior notification under the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, by inserting 'Gene Therapy' as a new entry in the relevant schedule. Additionally, the definition of 'pre-packaged and labelled' commodities has been revised to specify that such goods intended for retail sale must not exceed 25 kg or 25 litres and must comply with the packaging and labelling requirements under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. This amendment is effective retroactively from January 16, 2025.
