<h1>Customs Commissioner at JNPT appointed as common adjudicating authority under Customs Act sections 4 and 5 for DRI case.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has appointed the Commissioner of Customs (Export) at JNPT, Nhava Sheva, Raigad, Maharashtra, as the common adjudicating authority. This appointment is made under the powers granted by sections 4 and 5 of the Customs Act, 1962. The appointed authority will exercise powers and perform duties previously assigned to the Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) at New Customs House, Mumbai. This is for adjudicating matters related to a Show Cause Notice issued by the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, Mumbai Zonal Unit, concerning a specific case identified by reference number F.No. DRI/MZU/C/INV-17/2007-2008/6801.
