of <h1>Central Government designates IT Special Economic Zone in Noida as Inland Container Depot under Customs Act, effective Dec 18, 2008.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under Section 53 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, has designated December 18, 2008, as the effective date for the recognition of the information technology and IT-enabled services Special Economic Zone located at Plot No. 8, Sector-144, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, as an Inland Container Depot. This designation is made under Section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, and the development is undertaken by a private company.
