of <h1>Import of Elastomeric Now Classified as 'Free' Under Exim Code 5402 44 00 in ITC (HS) Amendment</h1> The Central Government has amended Schedule I (Imports) of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09, allowing the import of Elastomeric under Exim Code No. 5402 44 00 to be classified as 'Free' instead of 'Restricted.' This change, effective from November 24, 2008, is enacted under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest. The notification was issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
