of <h1>India Extends Customs Duty Exemption for Earthquake Relief Donations to March 31, 2002, under Notification No. 77/2001-Customs.</h1> The Government of India has extended the deadline for customs duty exemption on goods intended for donation to aid the relief and rehabilitation of individuals affected by the earthquake in Gujarat. The original deadline of July 31, 2001, as stated in Notification No. 7/2001-Customs, has been amended to March 31, 2002. This extension is enacted under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary for public interest. The announcement was made through Notification No. 77/2001-Customs, dated July 17, 2001, by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
