of <h1>Government Amends Customs Notification to Include UN World Food Programme Under Section 25(1) of Customs Act 1962.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 84/97-Customs, dated November 11, 1997, under the powers granted by section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962. This amendment, effective July 6, 2001, adds the United Nations World Food Programme to the list in the notification's annexure. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest. The principal notification was originally published in the Gazette of India and was previously amended by Notification No. 119/99-Customs on November 2, 1999.
