of <h1>Puducherry Amends GST Rules: Farm Produce Over 25kg/25L Not 'Pre-packaged' under Legal Metrology Act from July 2024.</h1> The Government of Puducherry has issued an amendment to Notification No. 2/2017-Puducherry GST (Rate), under the Puducherry Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from July 15, 2024, this amendment specifies that agricultural farm produce packaged in quantities exceeding 25 kilograms or 25 liters will not be classified as 'pre-packaged and labelled' under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. This change is made in the public interest following the recommendations of the Council. The notification was issued by the Commercial Taxes Secretariat and authorized by the Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry.
