Karnataka Amends GST Notification: New Entry 5AB Regulates Property Rental Transactions Between Unregistered and Registered Persons.

The Government of Karnataka has amended Notification No. 13/2017, initially issued on June 29, 2017, under the Karnataka Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. This amendment, effective from October 10, 2024, introduces a new entry, 5AB, to the notification's table. It specifies that the service of renting any property, excluding residential dwellings, will involve transactions between any unregistered person and any registered person. The amendment is enacted based on the recommendations of the Council and is officially ordered by the Under Secretary to the Government, Finance Department.
