of <h1>Finance Ministry Amends Union Territory Tax, Exempts Certain Services Under UT GST Act, 2017, Effective October 10, 2024.</h1> The Ministry of Finance has issued Notification No. 08/2024 to amend the Union Territory Tax (Rate) under the Union Territory Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from October 10, 2024, the amendments introduce exemptions for certain services. These include services related to electricity transmission, research and development funded by grants from government entities or educational institutions, affiliation services by educational boards to government schools, and vocational training services by recognized bodies. The notification also updates references to the National Council for Vocational Education and Training, replacing the previous terminology.
