of <h1>Government Rescinds Aadhaar Authentication Exemption u/r 8 for GST; Previous Actions Remain Valid Until Rescission Date.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of sub-rule (4B) of rule 8 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, has rescinded Notification No. 27/2022-Central Tax, dated 26th December 2022, which exempted biometric-based Aadhaar authentication. This decision, made on the recommendation of the Council, nullifies the previous exemption, except for actions taken prior to this rescission. The rescission is effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
