of <h1>Excise Duty on Petroleum Crude Reduced to Rs. 5200/Tonne Effective June 1, 2024, per Section 5A, Central Excise Act.</h1> The notification amends the previous Central Excise notification No. 18/2022, dated July 19, 2022, to reduce the Special Additional Excise Duty on the production of petroleum crude. The amendment, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, changes the duty rate to Rs. 5200 per tonne, effective from June 1, 2024. This amendment is made under the authority granted by section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and section 147 of the Finance Act, 2002, in the interest of the public. The principal notification was last amended on May 15, 2024.
