of <h1>Excise Duty on Petroleum Crude Raised to Rs. 6800/Tonne; Effective April 4, 2024, per Notification No. 11/2024.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 11/2024-Central Excise to amend the previous Notification No. 18/2022-Central Excise, dated July 19, 2022. This amendment increases the Special Additional Excise Duty on the production of petroleum crude to Rs. 6800 per tonne. The amendment is enacted under the powers conferred by section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and section 147 of the Finance Act, 2002. This change will take effect on April 4, 2024.
