of <h1>Gujarat amends GST Act, mandates statement of self-assessed tax payment via FORM GST CMP-08 by July 31, 2022.</h1> The Government of Gujarat has amended Notification No. 21/2019-State Tax dated April 24, 2019, under the Gujarat Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. As per the amendment, a new proviso is added requiring specified persons to submit a statement detailing the payment of self-assessed tax using FORM GST CMP-08 for the quarter ending June 30, 2022, by July 31, 2022. This amendment is issued by the Finance Department of Gujarat, following recommendations from the Goods and Services Tax Council, and is authorized by the Deputy Secretary to the Government.
