of <h1>India-Japan Tax Treaty Amended: 'Japan Bank for International Cooperation' Replaced by 'International Business Unit of Japan Finance Corporation.</h1> The notification announces an amendment to the Convention between the Government of India and the Government of Japan concerning the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion. Effective from October 1, 2008, the amendment involves replacing the 'Japan Bank for International Cooperation' with the 'International business unit of Japan Finance Corporation' in sub-clause (ii) of clause (a) of paragraph 4, Article 11 of the Convention.
