<h1>Special Economic Zone for IT Services Established in 2008, Recognized as Inland Container Depot under Customs Act Section 7.</h1> The Central Government has designated September 30, 2008, as the official date for the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This SEZ, to be developed by a major technology company, is recognized as an Inland Container Depot under section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, following the provisions of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
