of <h1>Godavari River Management Board Gains Tax Exemption on Govt Grants u/s 10(46) for FY 2019-20 to 2022-23.</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 102/2023 under Section 10(46) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, exempting the Godavari River Management Board, Hyderabad, from specified income tax on grants and subsidies received from the Central and State Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as interest from bank deposits. This exemption is conditional on the Board not engaging in commercial activities, maintaining the nature of specified income, and filing returns as per Section 139(4C)(g). The notification is retroactively applicable for assessment years 2020-21 to 2023-24, covering financial years 2019-20 to 2022-23.
