of <h1>Maharashtra's New GST Rule: Account Aggregators to Share Info via Common Portal with Consent, Effective Oct 1, 2023.</h1> The Government of Maharashtra has issued Notification No. 33/2023-State Tax under the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, designating 'Account Aggregator' systems for information sharing via the common portal based on consent as per Section 158A. This notification, effective from October 1, 2023, defines 'Account Aggregator' as a non-banking financial company operating under Reserve Bank of India guidelines, as outlined in the Non-Banking Financial Company - Account Aggregator Directions, 2016. The decision follows recommendations from the Council and is authorized by the Deputy Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra.
