of <h1>India Exempts Onion Exports from Customs Duty Over 40% Until December 2023; Rescinded in October.</h1> The Central Government of India, through Notification No. 48/2023-Customs dated 19th August 2023, has exempted onions exported from India from customs duty exceeding 40%. This exemption is issued under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and applies to onions classified under sub-heading 0703 10 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The exemption is effective immediately and will remain in force until 31st December 2023. However, it was rescinded by Notification No. 61/2023-Customs, effective from 29th October 2023.
