<h1>Regional Special Directors Appointed to Hear Appeals Under FEMA 1999; Jurisdiction Divided Among Four Major Cities.</h1> The Central Government, under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, has appointed Regional Special Directors (Appeals) to hear appeals against the orders of the Adjudicating Authority. This supersedes a previous notification from February 5, 2016. The appointed officials are designated based on jurisdictional regions: Delhi covering northern states and territories, Kolkata for eastern and northeastern states, Mumbai for western and central states, and Chennai for southern states and territories. These appointments are effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette, with officials assuming these roles in addition to their existing duties.
