of <h1>Puducherry GST Update: Jaggery Rates Revised, Pencil Sharpeners Taxed at 6% Effective March 1, 2023.</h1> The Government of Puducherry has issued Notification No. 3/2023 amending the earlier Notification No. 1/2017-Puducherry GST (Rate) dated 29th June 2017. Under the Puducherry Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, the amendments include changes in tax rates for certain goods. In Schedule-I, the entry for jaggery and related products is updated. Schedule-II introduces a new entry for pencil sharpeners with a 6% tax rate. In Schedule-III, an exception for pencil sharpeners is added to an existing entry. These amendments are effective from March 1, 2023.
