of <h1>Tripura Amends GST Tax Rates: Jaggery & Khandsari Sugar at 2.5%, Pencil Sharpeners at 6% with Exclusions.</h1> The Government of Tripura has amended Notification No. 1/2017-State Tax (Rate) under the Tripura State Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from March 1, 2023, the amendments include changes in tax rates: Schedule I (2.5%) now includes all types of jaggery and khandsari sugar pre-packaged and labelled; Schedule II (6%) adds pencil sharpeners under S. No. 186A; and Schedule III (9%) specifies exclusions for pencil sharpeners. These changes were made based on the recommendations of the GST Council.
