of <h1>Maharashtra Amends GST Notification: Clarifies Residential Rent Exemption, Omits Entry 23A, Effective January 2023.</h1> The Maharashtra State Government has issued Notification No. 15/2022 to amend Notification No. 12/2017-State Tax (Rate) under the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective January 1, 2023, the amendment introduces an explanation for S. No. 12, clarifying that the exemption applies to renting residential dwellings to registered individuals who are proprietors using the property for personal residence. Additionally, S. No. 23A and its related entries are omitted. This amendment is made in the public interest following the recommendations of the GST Council.
