of <h1>Excise Duty Amendment Lowers Petroleum Crude Duty, Raises Aviation Fuel Export Duty Effective November 2, 2022.</h1> The Ministry of Finance has issued Notification No. 36/2022-Central Excise, effective November 2, 2022, amending the previous Notification No. 18/2022-Central Excise. The amendment reduces the Special Additional Excise Duty on petroleum crude to Rs. 9,500 per tonne and increases the duty on the export of aviation turbine fuel to Rs. 5 per litre. This change is enacted under the powers granted by the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Finance Act, 2002, in the public interest.
