of <h1>India Updates Customs Notification: New Rules for Gold, Silver, Platinum Imports Effective October 1, 2022.</h1> The Central Government of India has amended Notification No. 56/2000-Customs to include a new proviso requiring importers and exporters dealing with gold, silver, platinum, and their alloys to adhere to the procedures outlined in the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty) Rules, 2017. This amendment, effective from October 1, 2022, applies to nominated agencies and status holders importing these metals under duty exemptions. The changes aim to ensure compliance with the updated rules for concessional duty rates as part of the public interest measures under the Customs Act, 1962.
