of <h1>Telangana Amends GST: Removes 2.5% Tax on Specific Goods, Adds 6% Tax for Footwear Under Rs. 1000.</h1> The Telangana State Government has amended Notification No. 1/2017-State Tax (Rate) under the Telangana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective January 1, 2022, the amendments include the removal of serial number 225 from Schedule I, which had a tax rate of 2.5%. Additionally, in Schedule II with a 6% tax rate, a new entry, serial number 171A1, has been added for footwear with a sale value not exceeding Rs. 1000 per pair. These changes were made following the recommendations of the Council and supersede a previous notification.
