of <h1>Government Cancels SEZ Status for Hinjewadi, Pune; Land to Become Integrated Township Under Maharashtra Policy.</h1> The Central Government has rescinded the notification establishing a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Electronic Hardware and Software, including IT and ITES, at Hinjewadi, Pune, Maharashtra. The SEZ, initially notified in December 2008, covered an area of 10.968 hectares. M/s. Ashdan Township Ventures Pvt. Ltd., formerly M/s. Kumar Builders Township Ventures Pvt. Ltd., proposed the de-notification, which was supported by the Government of Maharashtra and the Development Commissioner of SEEPZ SEZ. The land is planned to be developed as an Integrated Township Project under Maharashtra's Integrated Township Policy.
