of <h1>IGST notification amends rates, adds Annexure V, re-rates transport, GTA 5% option with blocked credit</h1> The government amends the IGST Rate Notification to revise tax rates and entries for various transport, goods-transport-agency (GTA), healthcare and related services: certain items are omitted or re-rated (notably passenger and goods transport categories, ropeway services, renting of goods carriages with fuel included, and supporting transport services), GTA services get a 5% option with conditions limiting input tax credit and requiring prior yearly declaration (deadline for 2022-23 being 16 August 2022), clinical-establishment room charges above Rs.5,000/day attract 5% with blocked credit, biomedical waste treatment by common facilities taxed at 12%, new definitions and Annexure V form inserted; effective 18 July 2022.
