of <h1>India Withdraws 2.5% Concessional GST on Scientific Equipment for Public-Funded Research, Effective July 18, 2022.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 11/2022-Central Tax (Rate) on July 13, 2022, rescinding Notification No. 45/2017-Central Tax (Rate) dated November 14, 2017. This action removes the concessional GST rate of 2.5% previously applied to scientific and technical equipment supplied to public-funded research institutions. The rescission is effective from July 18, 2022, and does not affect actions taken or omitted before this date.
