of <h1>Gold Import Duty Exemption Rate Increased from 6.9% to 11.85% u/s 25(1) of Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 57/2000-Customs to increase the Basic Customs Duty (BCD) exemption rate on gold imported under the replenishment scheme. Effective from June 30, 2022, the applicable rate is revised from 6.9% to 11.85%. This change is enacted under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The notification was issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, and published in the Gazette of India.
