of <h1>Government Reduces Road and Infrastructure Cess on Petrol to Rs. 5/Litre and Diesel to Rs. 2/Litre.</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 25/2022-Customs, amending Notification No. 18/2019-Customs to reduce the Road and Infrastructure Cess on petrol and diesel. Effective from May 22, 2022, the cess is revised to Rs. 5 per litre for petrol and Rs. 2 per litre for diesel. This amendment is made under the authority of the Finance Act, 2018 and the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest. The original notification was published on July 6, 2019, and was previously amended on November 3, 2021.
