of <h1>West Bengal Updates GST Rates: Changes to Tax Rates on Bricks and Tiles Effective April 2022, Aligns with Central Rules.</h1> The Government of West Bengal issued a notification amending its previous notification No. 1125-F.T. dated June 28, 2017, concerning tax rates on bricks and related items under the West Bengal Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from April 1, 2022, the amendments include the removal of certain entries in Schedule I (2.5% tax rate) and the addition of new entries in Schedule II (6% tax rate), specifically for fly ash bricks, bricks of fossil meals, building bricks, and earthen or roofing tiles. This amendment aligns with the corresponding Central Notification No. 01/2022-Central Tax (Rate).
