of <h1>Bihar Amends GST Notification: New 6% Tax on Bricks and Tiles Effective April 2022, Replaces 2.5% Rate.</h1> The Governor of Bihar, following the Council's recommendations, has amended Notification No. 1/2017-State Tax (Rate) under the Bihar Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective April 1, 2022, certain entries in Schedule I with a 2.5% tax rate are omitted, while new entries are added to Schedule II with a 6% tax rate. These include fly ash bricks, bricks of fossil meals, building bricks, and earthen or roofing tiles. This amendment is issued by the Commercial Tax Department and authorized by the Commissioner of State Tax-cum-Secretary.
