<h1>New Customs Notification Appoints Principal Commissioners Across India with Authority Under Customs Act Sections 28, 28AAA, Chapter X.</h1> The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has issued Notification No. 23/2022-Customs (N.T.) appointing Commissioners of Customs (Adjudication) in Delhi and Mumbai as Principal Commissioners or Commissioners of Customs. These officials are granted jurisdiction across India with authority under the Customs Act, 1962, to adjudicate cases assigned by the Board, including acting as proper officers for functions under sections 28, 28AAA, and Chapter X of the Act. This notification supersedes a previous notification from June 3, 2003, and takes effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
