of <h1>Government Amends GST Rates: Fly Ash Bricks and More Now at 6% Under Schedule II, Effective April 1, 2022.</h1> The Central Government, under the Union Territory Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has amended Notification No. 1/2017-Union Territory Tax (Rate) dated June 28, 2017. Effective April 1, 2022, specific entries in Schedule I at a 2.5% rate are omitted, while new entries are added to Schedule II at a 6% rate. These include items such as fly ash bricks, bricks of fossil meals, building bricks, and earthen or roofing tiles. This amendment follows the recommendations of the Council and updates the previous notification amended on December 31, 2021.
