of <h1>Govt Amends IGST Tax Rates: Fly Ash Bricks, Fossil Meal Bricks Now 12%, Effective April 1, 2022.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has issued Notification No. 01/2022 to amend the earlier Notification No. 1/2017-Integrated Tax (Rate) dated June 28, 2017. Effective April 1, 2022, this amendment omits certain serial numbers from Schedule I (5%) and adds new entries to Schedule II (12%) concerning fly ash bricks, bricks of fossil meals, building bricks, and earthen or roofing tiles. This change follows recommendations from the Council and aims to update the tax rates applicable to these items.
