of <h1>Jharkhand Amends GST Notification: New Interest Rates for Taxpayers Based on Turnover Effective June 1, 2021.</h1> The Government of Jharkhand has amended Notification No. 49 - State Tax, dated 29th June 2017, under the Jharkhand Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The amendments involve changes in the wording related to tax payment obligations and adjustments in the interest rates applicable to taxpayers based on their turnover. Taxpayers with turnovers exceeding 5 crores are subject to 9% interest for the first 15 days post-due date and 18% thereafter. Those with turnovers up to 5 crores have a graded interest rate structure for March, April, and May 2021. The notification is effective from 1st June 2021.
