of <h1>Maharashtra Amends GST Notification No. 01/2017; Changes Tax Rates on Goods like Food, Machinery, Oils from Jan 2022.</h1> The Government of Maharashtra has issued Notification No. 18/2021, amending the prior Notification No. 01/2017-State Tax (Rate) under the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from January 1, 2022, the amendments involve changes to various schedules, adjusting tax rates and classifications for numerous goods. These include modifications to entries related to food products, oils, fats, minerals, ores, machinery, and other items across different schedules with tax rates ranging from 2.5% to 14%. The notification is issued under the authority of relevant sections of the Act, following recommendations from the GST Council.
