of <h1>Punjab Amends GST Rules: Eight-Digit HSN Codes Now Mandatory on Invoices for Specified Chemicals, Effective Retroactively from 2020.</h1> The Government of Punjab has amended Notification No. S.O.23/PGSTR/2017/R.46/2017, dated June 30, 2017, under the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017. The amendment requires registered persons to include eight-digit HSN Codes on tax invoices for specified chemical supplies. The notification lists various chemicals with their corresponding HSN Codes. This amendment is effective retroactively from December 1, 2020. The notification was issued by the Financial Commissioner (Taxation) and Secretary to the Government of Punjab, Department of Excise and Taxation.
