of <h1>Gujarat amends GST Act 2017: Waives late fees for GSTR-3B returns; offers conditional waivers for past filings.</h1> The Government of Gujarat issued a notification amending the Gujarat Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, to waive late fees for filing GSTR-3B returns for March to May 2021. Taxpayers with turnovers over 5 crores have a 15-day waiver, while those with turnovers up to 5 crores have longer waivers depending on the month. A conditional waiver applies for late returns from July 2017 to April 2021 if filed by August 31, 2021, with fees capped at 500 rupees or 250 rupees for nil returns. From June 2021 onwards, late fees are rationalized based on turnover, with specific fee caps.
