of <h1>Meghalaya GST Act Waives Late Fees for FORM GSTR-7 Filings; Max Cap at Rs. 1,000 from June 2021 Onwards.</h1> The Government of Meghalaya, under the Meghalaya Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has issued a notification waiving late fees for registered persons who fail to file returns in FORM GSTR-7 on time. This waiver applies from June 2021 onwards and reduces the late fee to twenty-five rupees per day, with a maximum cap of one thousand rupees. This decision follows the recommendations of the GST Council and aims to rationalize penalties for delays in filing tax returns.
