Central Board sets new exchange rates for foreign currency conversion under Customs Act, 1962; effective July 2, 2021.
Notification No. 57/2021-Customs (N.T.), issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs on July 1, 2021, establishes the exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported and exported goods, effective from July 2, 2021. This notification, made under section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962, supersedes Notification No. 54/2021-Customs (N.T.) dated June 17, 2021. The exchange rates are detailed in two schedules: Schedule I lists rates for individual foreign currency units, while Schedule II provides rates for 100 units of certain currencies. This notification was later superseded by Notification No. 59/2021 on July 15, 2021.
