The amendment concerns the designation and headquarters of income-tax authorities, specifically replacing the entry for serial number 10 in the schedule. The new designation is the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-tax for the North East Region, based in Guwahati, with the Commissioner of Income-tax (Appeal) (Central) also located there. This amendment is retroactively effective from February 24, 2021, and is certified not to adversely affect any person's interests.
