of <h1>Customs Act Update: New Provisions for Nuclear Power Projects Over 440 MW Capacity, Certified by Atomic Energy Dept.</h1> This notification amends Notification No. 16/2000-Customs, dated March 1, 2000, under the Customs Act, 1962. It introduces new provisions for goods required for setting up nuclear power projects with a capacity of 440 MW or more, as specified in List 34. A Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy must certify these projects. It also includes conditions such as the establishment of a Regulatory Commission and privatization of power distribution in cities with over one million people. The notification specifies the inclusion of Tarapur, Kudankulam, and Kaiga projects in List 34.
