Karnataka Offers Amnesty on Late Fees for GSTR-3B Filings from 2017-2020; Conditional Waivers for 2020 Returns.

The Government of Karnataka has issued a notification providing a one-time amnesty by reducing or waiving late fees for non-submission of FORM GSTR-3B from July 2017 to January 2020. Additionally, it offers conditional late fee waivers for delays in filing returns for the tax periods from February 2020 to July 2020. For taxpayers with a turnover above 5 crores, the waiver applies if returns are filed by June 24, 2020, and for those with a turnover up to 5 crores, various deadlines apply from June to September 2020. Late fees are capped at 250 rupees if returns are filed by September 30, 2020.
