of <h1>Tamil Nadu GST Act 2017 Requires Aadhaar Authentication for Registration Starting April 2020; Alternatives Available Without Aadhaar.</h1> The Government of Tamil Nadu, under the Tamil Nadu Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, mandates Aadhaar authentication for individuals to be eligible for registration under the GST framework. This requirement is effective from April 1, 2020. If an individual does not have an Aadhaar number, alternative identification methods will be provided as per the specified rules. The notification was issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government, following the recommendations of the Council.
