of <h1>Delhi Amends GST Act: Tax Exemption for Electric Vehicles Over 12 Passengers Supplied to Local Authorities.</h1> The Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, exercising powers under the Delhi Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has amended a previous notification to include a new provision. This amendment adds a clause to the notification, allowing for the tax exemption of electrically operated vehicles designed to carry more than twelve passengers, provided they are supplied to a local authority. The amendment specifies that such vehicles must be powered solely by electrical energy from external sources or batteries, as defined under Chapter 87 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This amendment is effective from August 1, 2019.
