Alternatives in Rule 9.</h1> The Government of Tripura has issued a notification under the Tripura State Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, mandating Aadhaar authentication for individuals seeking GST registration. Effective from April 1, 2020, individuals must authenticate their Aadhaar number as per rule 8 of the Tripura State GST Rules, 2017. If an Aadhaar number is not assigned, alternative identification methods will be provided as specified in rule 9. This measure is based on the recommendations of the Council and aims to streamline the registration process.
