of <h1>Maharashtra GST Act exempts non-citizens and certain entities from Aadhaar authentication starting April 1, 2020, per Section 25(6D).</h1> The Government of Maharashtra, under the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has issued Notification No. 17/2020-State Tax, dated April 7, 2020. It specifies that Aadhaar authentication requirements will not apply to non-citizens of India or to any persons other than individuals, authorized signatories, managing and authorized partners, and the Karta of a Hindu undivided family. This exemption is effective from April 1, 2020, as per the powers granted by section 25(6D) of the Act, following recommendations from the Council.
